11: The School Support That Sticks Summit: Real Help for Parents Navigating School Challenges

[00:00:00]

I wish I had a magic wand for you. There are no quick fixes, but it's about understanding how your child learns, getting to the root of what's happening and partnering with teachers in a way that actually works for your kid.

parents deserve answers and the community to help them when school gets hard. And I want you to know you don't have to figure this out alone. So if you're feeling stuck, frustrated, unsure, just like I was, this is for you .

Welcome to Unlocking School Success, a podcast with the smart strategies and support parents need to help their kids thrive. I'm your host, Scotty Weintraub, parent coach, school navigator, and your go-to guide for turning School Stress and Chaos into clear strategies that work. Let's get started.

Today's episode of the Unlocking School Success Podcast is gonna be a little bit different. I wanna take you behind the scenes of something I've been [00:01:00] pouring my heart into and a lot of time putting together the school support that Sticks Summit. I wanna share why it matters so much to me and how it can make real difference for parents just like you.

School started being a challenge for my kids. I did what any parent would probably do. I met with the teachers. I asked a lot of questions. I had a lot of meetings, but every time when no one really had the answers that I felt like I needed. I felt lost, frustrated, and I felt really alone. And those feelings are exactly why I started reframe parenting so I can help other parents have a smoother road than the one that I trapped.

My dream has been to bring together experts and insights I needed back then all in one place, that dream has become the school support that sticks to the summit. This isn't just another parenting event, and I didn't really want it to be. It's something I wished had existed when I was trying to figure [00:02:00] out why school felt so hard for my kids, and what I could do about it as a parent.

'cause the truth is so many of us are doing our best to help our kids succeed at school without ever being given a roadmap. Here's the thing, when school doesn't seem to be working. Parents start to carry that weight. We wonder, am I missing something? Am I supposed to know what to do? I feel like I should be able to fix this.

And too often the answers we get from school are incomplete or even confusing. It's not certainly that teachers don't care or administrators either. They really do, but the system really isn't built to explain what's going on beneath the surface or to be a fit for all kids. And that's what this summit is really about.

Helping parents [00:03:00] understand why school feels so hard for their kids and. What you as a parent can do about it. And without all the shame, without blame, without confusion or guesswork, I wanted to create a place where parents could finally get the information they needed, learn from experts who really understand and walk away feeling hopefully a little bit more positive.

So let me tell you a little bit about the summit itself. So the school support, the Stick Summit is coming up really soon. It's a free four day online event that's happening October 27th to October 30th, 2025. Each day focuses on a different theme that gets to the heart of what we as parents are facing.

So the first day is called Understanding Your Unique Learner, and that's. All about figuring out how [00:04:00] your child learns best and why school might not be matching that. So I want you to spend some time thinking about who is your child? How does their brain work? Because that information we're gonna be able to use as we move through the summit.

The second day is about learning differences in academic skills. Here we're gonna be diving into things like learning disabilities. Difficulty with reading, math, handwriting, executive functioning, and how to build these skills for our kids and use that information to help advocate for them at school.

The third day is about emotions, behavior, and mental health, and this is really about understanding what's behind the behavior. What's really going on for our kids when maybe the surface is telling [00:05:00] us one thing, but there might be something else underneath. So we're going to have speakers talking all about things like emotional regulation, anxiety, and having big feelings at school.

The fourth day is where we're gonna take all of this information that we've been learning and try to put it together into some action. Day four is about advocacy mindset, and everyday wins. This is where you'll hear from speakers talking about how to take this information and advocate for your child with heart and hopefully without burnout, and to build partnerships with teachers so that we can all work together for our kids' success.

In total, you're gonna hear from more than 25 incredible speakers, including occupational therapists. Speech language pathologists, psychologists, learning specialists, parent coaches, these are all [00:06:00] people who work every day with families and with kids who learn and think differently. They're gonna bring practical, real world strategies that you can start using right away, and you can watch every session for free during the summit week. Each days sessions will drop and be available for 48 hours, but you'll also have the option to upgrade to the Parent Power Pack. And this is an exciting upgrade that allows you not only to have extended access, you'll get up to six months to listen and relearn if you want to, but you'll also be getting some really exciting exclusive bonuses from our speakers that I think will help make all of this stick even more.

So it's a great way to take what you learn even further and revisit sessions when you need them, when your needs come up. And uh oh, you'll also get a podcast only version of all of our sessions, so I know you'll like that part. So this summit is for parents of K 12 students who need more help at school.[00:07:00]

Maybe your child has a learning difference or you suspect they might. Or maybe you just know that school feels harder than it should, or maybe you know that they have a neurodiversity that might be impacting them at school. It's for parents who are stuck between something feels off and really don't know what to do next. And it's for parents who are tired of feeling like the only ones in the room asking questions.

You don't have to have a diagnosis or a label to belong in the summit, you just have to care about helping your child thrive at school. My goal for every parent who attends the summit is to walk away with a few different things. One, understanding a little more knowledge about how your child uniquely learns and how you can apply that information to help them at school.

I want you to come away with tools, practical strategies. Tips that you can employ right away to help make school work better for your child. And finally, [00:08:00] confidence in knowing what your child needs and being able to show up at school for your child and advocate effectively. You'll hear things that make you nod, make you wanna take notes, maybe even tear up a little, because let's be honest, this stuff is hard.

Finally, we're bringing together experts who are putting into words what you have been feeling. And if you wanna keep learning after the summit ends, that Parent Power Pack gives you time to do that. But what makes this event different? 'cause there are a lot of parenting events out there. This one is specifically for parents whose kids need more help at school.

I wish I had a magic wand for you. There are no quick fixes, but it's about understanding how your child learns, getting to the root of what's happening and partnering with teachers in a way that actually works for your kid. What makes this summit different is the range of professional voices. We've got all sorts of really amazing people here [00:09:00] coming together to give you a parent focused view at your child's learning experience.

I built this summit to be the village I needed when I was struggling. So we're also going to be offering a popup parent Facebook group, where we'll be able to get that sort of one-on-one connection with other parents who are going through the same things and where we'll also be giving away some fun prizes.

'cause who doesn't like a good prize? So here's some homework for you. Don't worry. It's not the difficult kind. All you have to do to sign up to the summit is go to schoolsupportthatsticks.com and grab your free ticket.

Really, that's it. You'll get access to the full lineup when the summit starts on the 27th.

And if you want to have longer access, you can always grab that Parent Power Pack.

I created this because parents deserve answers and the community to help them when school [00:10:00] gets hard. And I want you to know you don't have to figure this out alone. So if you're feeling stuck, frustrated, unsure, just like I was, this is for you and I hope you'll join us. It's free, it's online, and it's happening really soon.

So head to schoolsupportthatsticks.com to save your spot. And I hope to see you there, and if this resonated with you, please send this podcast episode or information about the summit to a friend or someone you know who could really use this kind of support too. With that, I hope I'll see you inside the school.

Support the Stick Summit starting on October 27th.
